Alisa

Alisa is a trauma informed, qualified and accredited practitioner of Mindfulness, meditation, Reiki Master/Teacher, circle and retreat leader, dedicated to guiding others no matter where in their pathway they currently are. She is always learning more and currently is awaiting qualifications in Compassion Focused Wellbeing Therapy, Sound Baths, and more. All her work is neurodivergent friendly.

Ironically, always skeptical she sought out answers in science first, taking time to align how the science matches energy work, alongside what can be explained. As physics tells us, energy cannot be created or destroyed, and her aim is to, as in science, allow you the space to notice your own changes – tense to calm for example. As far as meditation is regarded, NICE endorsed MBCT over 20 years ago, showing Mindfulness (meditation without spiritual connotations) is a great tool.

Growing up with her special needs brother, Alisa always felt her purpose was rooted in supporting others and helping them grow in whatever form that may be. She was fortunately raised in a spiritual family that valued meditation, energy work and openness to multiple experiences and pathways, leading to her becoming Reiki attuned by her own mother.

Honing her work style over 25 years through deep-seated, regular practise, Alisa has accepted that we all learn differently and that different styles of education work better for each individual. Having spent decades within advice work, advocacy and Tribunal working, specialising in health matters and specialists projects (including SEN) meant she always worked holistically as knew its value. Even during that time,  she still found space for meditation and development circles in whatever part of the UK she was residing in at the time: whilst juggling family, work, her caring role and also bereavements.

Even her husband's work accident while pregnant with number four didn’t slow her drive for life. Life's battles pull you away from this work at times, but it is always there, even if only in the background – such as having a short meditation whilst making a mindful cup of tea.

Every setback and trauma lived through has only shaped her strengths, giving lived experience forming the ability to relate, understand and create a safe, nurturing environment where all are welcome, and questions and revisiting are both accepted and encouraged.

She still ensures she attends workshops, retreats and regularly sits in circle for her own development, not just as a facilitator.

She believes in tutoring others with the background and embodiment, and as such ensured she became re-attuned in Reiki to Master/Teacher Level in 2025.

Alisa feels it is this same draw - the search for something that ‘feels’ right - which then allows you to learn for yourself. A relaxed, safe and gentle environment is her priority when teaching, as a space that is comfortable is easier to learn in. She feels it is about finding ‘you’ and there’s never a time limit on that, or how our beliefs or interests may change and adapt. She knows she doesn’t have all the answers but is willing to guide to other areas or teachers which may align more fully with you; she believes that’s the true role of a teacher – to find something that works for you specifically.

Please note, although Alisa commits to creating safe and inclusive spaces where all are welcome, certain meditative practise (especially when focused on breath) and sound baths may not be suitable for everyone.

This can include people who are pregnant, have epilepsy, serious cardiovascular conditions, respiratory conditions such as severe asthma, a history of psychosis, or who are currently experiencing acute mental health distress.  If in the first trimester of pregnancy, or if you have had metal placed into your body in the past month, sound baths are not recommended. Any non-disclosed conditions when you attend mean you're completing an activity at your own risk.

If you’re unsure, or even if you just want to ask questions, you’re warmly encouraged to get in touch. There’s no such thing as a ‘stupid’ question.
